DZ/AZ Environmental Services Operator

Full-Time, Permanent | Marathon, Ontario | Starting at $30.00/hour

Phil’s Waste Services Inc. is looking for a dependable, motivated DZ/AZ Environmental Services Operator to join our growing team in Marathon, Ontario.

For over 30 years, Phil’s Waste Services has provided essential waste management and environmental services to communities, businesses, industries and mining operations throughout the region.

We offer the stability of an established local company, the variety of working with different equipment and job sites, and the opportunity to build a long-term career in a growing Northern Ontario community.

If you're an experienced DZ/AZ operator who takes pride in your work, enjoys variety and wants a career where you can be home every evening, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Do

This isn't a job where you'll drive the same route and do the same thing every day. Our Operators rotate between different equipment, services and job sites, providing professional environmental support to a wide range of customers.

Your work may include:

Operating a variety of modern trucks and specialized equipment to collect, haul and dispose of non-hazardous solid and liquid waste (pumping septic tanks, performing commercial garbage collection, delivering water, delivering and servicing portable restrooms and roll-off bins)
Completing vehicle inspections, service records and work orders
Maintaining equipment in clean, safe and professional working condition
Completing general maintenance tasks to equipment and around our shop
Communicating professionally with customers and our team
Following company health, safety and environmental procedures

You'll work independently much of the time while still having the support of an experienced local team behind you.

Who We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is reliable, safety-conscious and takes pride in doing a job well.

The ideal candidate has:

A valid Ontario DZ or AZ driver's licence
The ability to pass mandatory drug & alcohol testing
A safe driving record
A strong work ethic and proven reliability
Good communication and customer-service skills
The ability to work independently and manage changing priorities
Comfortable performing physical work outdoors and in varying weather conditions

Experience operating vacuum trucks, septic trucks, roll-off trucks, waste collection vehicles or other commercial/heavy equipment is a strong asset.

Don't have experience with every piece of equipment we operate? That's okay. Training can be provided to the right candidate with a strong attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

What We Offer

We want this to be more than another driving job. We offer the opportunity to build a stable, long-term career with an established company where good employees are valued.

Starting wage of $30.00/hour, based on experience
Full benefits package and employer-matched pension plan after 3 months of employment
Annual work-wear allowance
Training and professional development
Stable, valued employment with a family-owned company with over 30 years in business
Flexible scheduling to support work/life balance
Local work that brings you home each evening
Opportunity for overtime
A varied workday with the opportunity to operate different trucks and equipment

Why Phil’s Waste Services?

If you're tired of long-haul driving, extended periods away from home or feeling like just another employee at a large company, Phil’s Waste Services offers something different.

You'll be part of a small, established team where your contribution matters, while working with modern equipment and serving customers ranging from local residents and businesses to major industrial and mining operations.

Come build your career in a beautiful and booming Northern Ontario community!
